Vice Mayor Peggy Bilsten has spent her professional life advocating on behalf of human rights issues, both locally and internationally. Peggy served the people of Phoenix for fourteen years on the Phoenix City Council, including two terms as Vice Mayor.
During her tenure on the Phoenix City Council, she championed the development of the Phoenix Family Advocacy Center, chaired the City of Phoenix Prevention of Child Sex Trafficking Committee, Commission to Prevent Domestic Violence Against Women for Governor Janet Napolitano and was appointed as a City of Phoenix Humanitarian Ambassador.
Peggy is currently the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Bilsten Consulting, which specializes in facilitating strategic community outreach. Peggy lives in sunny Chandler, Arizona with her husband Tom and enjoys spending time with her six grandchildren.
