Courage for America Issues “Democracy Alert” Ahead of Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill Vote

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As millions of Americans head to the polls today, Courage for America issued its first ever “Democracy Alert” ahead of Thursday’s scheduled vote on the House Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill, which would undermine our election system by zeroing out election security grants and prohibiting the implementation of an executive order to increase voter registration and turnout. “This extreme bill will kneecap our democracy and lock even more Americans out of our election system,” said José Morales, Jr., spokesperson for Courage for America. “This Democracy Alert is a rallying cry to all Americans who share our deep concern about the future of our democracy and opposition to this MAGA Majority’s attempts to silence our voices. We cannot let their draconian, anti-democratic agenda see the light of day – our rights and freedoms depend on it.”

The Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Bill:
