Courage for America Releases “Second Chances” Ad, Highlighting Pardoned January 6th Insurrectionists Calling for Retribution
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Courage for America released a digital ad titled, “Second Chances,” to raise awareness of the violent insurrectionists recently pardoned by President Donald Trump, many of whom are already calling for retribution against prosecutors, law enforcement, and former Biden administration officials.
The ad, backed by House Speaker Mike Johnson’s declaration that he supports pardoning these violent criminals because of his belief in “redemption” and “second chances,” highlights insurrectionists Daniel Ball, who was arrested on federal firearms charges 24 hours after his release, Jacob Chansely aka the QAnon Shaman, who tweeted, “NOW I AM GONNA BUY SOME MOTHA FU*KIN GUNS!!!” after receiving his pardon, Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, who said “success is going to be retribution,” and Oathkeepers founder Stewart Rhodes, who called on Trump’s administration to “clean house” at the FBI.
Through its recent ad campaign, Courage for America has been warning that these pardons would release violent criminals back into our communities, calling on members of Congress to oppose President Trump’s disregard for the law by pardoning insurrectionists. Donald Trump has ensured that some of the most violent offenders are roaming the streets, foreshadowing more violence, and endangering innocent people.
Our elected officials must call out this flagrant disregard for the rule of law to prevent further political violence in our communities.
