Press Conference Will Feature Remarks from Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO), Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Rep-elect Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Political Director of Common Defense Naveed Shah, and Veteran Leaders 

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Thursday, January 5 at 11:00 am, former DC Police Officer and January 6 survivor, Michael Fanone — along with nearly 40 veterans from across the country — will join Courage for America and Common Defense for a press conference on Capitol Hill. The group will speak from their personal experience defending the country and call on the incoming Speaker and GOP House leadership to unequivocally condemn political violence and hold members of their party accountable for supporting and inciting it. They will be proudly joined by veteran leaders including U.S. Representative Jason Crow (D-CO); U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ); Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA); U.S. Representative-elect Chris Deluzio (D-PA); Political Director of Common Defense, Naveed Shah; among others. In addition to the press conference, veterans will participate in other events during the week, including meetings with their representatives.

WHY: As leadership in Congress transitions, Courage for America and Common Defense are partnering with veterans, educators, clergy, and community advocates to hold GOP leaders accountable and condemn political violence.  This full-force accountability campaign will kick off with the press conference on Capitol Hill and will continue with additional actions throughout the year.
