Officer Michael Fanone Statement on Third Anniversary of January 6th Insurrection

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On the eve of the third anniversary of the January 6, 2021 insurrection, Courage for America Council Member and former Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone released the following statement:

“Three years ago, I witnessed first-hand the MAGA-fueled assault on the heart of our democracy, a violent attack that was shameful, deplorable and completely un-American. The indifference and lies I’ve witnessed since 2021 are a national disgrace,” said Officer Michael Fanone, Courage for America council member and former D.C. Police officer injured in the Jan. 6 insurrection. “We will always have our disagreements. That’s democracy. But we cannot allow it to also be violent. We must come together as Americans over the next year and ensure the next presidential election is peacefully certified on January 6, 2025. We cannot wait. We cannot fail.”
